Geocache Description:

Zenkoji Temple Series #1 : This cache will be easily Park & Grab.

The cache point is in the Moto-Zenkoji Temple in Nagano Prefecture Iida City.

Home of Yoshimitsu Honda that opened Zenkoji Temple was here.
It was on the mortar of home that Yoshimitsu that took the principal image home from Naniwa(Osaka) had first enshrined it.
Here was assumed to be "Zakoji Temple" (mean "sitting light temple") from shooting of the mortar light brilliantly when enshrining it.
The mortar remains in this temple now.
Moreover, the name of a place around here is said now, "Zakoji".

Because the principal image moved to Imoi(Nagano City), and the name of the temple became "Zenkoji Temple", too it came to be called, here was "Moto-Zenkoji Temple"(mean ”Former Zenkoji Temple”).

By Train:
5 minutes on foot from the Moto-Zenoji Station. (JR Central, Iida Line)

By Car:
About 20 minutes from Iida Interchange or Matsukawa Interchange. (both Chuo Expressway)

キャッシュポイントは、長野県飯田市にある元善光寺にあります。

ここは、善光寺を開いた本田善光の自宅があったところです。
難波より本尊を持ち帰った善光がまず本尊を安置したのが自宅の臼の上でした。
安置したら臼が燦然と光を放ったことからここを「坐光寺」としました。
今もこのお寺にその臼が残っています。
また今もこの辺の地名は「座光寺」と言います。

本尊が芋井（長野市）に移り、寺の名前も「善光寺」になったところから、ここも「元善光寺」と呼ばれるようになりました。
