Lunderston Bay. Just off the A78 between Inverkip and Gourock. Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park's only seaside attraction with free parking, Ranger Service, environmental education events and activities. Open all year with special needs friendly adventure play area for the kids, views of the Cowal peninsular, coastal walks and picnic sites. During the summer it gets very busy with loads of activities and real ice cream to tempt you. Cardwell garden centre is just across the road where you can easily spend a small fortune and serves up brilliant food.
It’s a popular beauty spot with plenty of space for dog walking, playing on the beach , rock pool hunting and just chilling out. Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park staff maintain the site with regular contributions from the Ranger Service based at Cornalees Visitor Centre. The coastal walk takes you to Inverkip and can get a bit muddy at times but is worth the effort for the scenery and bird life that teams towards the Southern end of the bay. The occasional seal pops up to please the tourists.
The cache is a wee clip lock box, is towards the Inverkip end of the bay and is just off the footpath. Easy going on a level path and great for the dogs. Can get busy and very muddy after heavy rain. It‘s about a 30 minute walk to the cache site from the parking area.
Parking at N55 55.830 W00452.529.
