This is a straightforward hike onto the hills behind Largs and can be accessed from either the Brisbane
glen road or by taking the track up to the Greeto burn, following the burn, or going up onto the top
and take the ‘high’ route. Not that much when you get there except the views and the peace, so choose a
good day as they are brilliant. Pretty hard going. There’s parking at the water works at N55 50.228 W004 50.204 on the glen road. You can then work your way up towards Rowantree hill and then the Brothers. You could also work towards the Hill of Stake cache but it is open moor, boggy and hard going. In winter, once passed the farm land on the lower slopes, there is plenty of space for dogs to run off the lead on the moor as the sheep have been taken down. Take in the trig. point at Burnt hill as someone has put a comments box up there! It looks like the farmer is running some form of track up from Tourgill so it may make it a bit easier on the legs.
The cache itself is a medium sized clip-lock box and should be pretty easy to find.
