Geocache Description:

This cache is placed at Ferry Point - Restronguet. The cache log is in a bison sized plastic screw top tube, but this will be found inside another container. You will need to bring your own Pen, that will write on the waterproof log strip. This cache can NOT be reached on foot at high tide !

This stretch of water at Restronguet Point is known locally as the Gut. It is where the river reaches it's narrowest point. For many many years a foot ferry ran from here to the Pandora Inn and it was the responsibility and part of the contract, for the Landlord of the Pandora to operate this ferry. 100 years ago there was only 5 cottages on Restronguet Point - a far cry from today's number, where there are now many multi-million pound properties on the approach to this cache. Parking can be a bit difficult the closer you get to the point, but leaving the car further up the road and walking down gives you a great chance to nose at how the other half live !!! See waypoint below for the closest parking possible. The final approach can be slippery under foot.
