Geocache Description:

The cache site is on a foreshore footpath near to Penpol Boatyard in an area that is known locally as the "Stomps"
This cache may not be accessible at high tide.

The cache container is a 5" tube of film pot thickness not far away from Penpol boatyard. This is a working yard and a popular foreshore footpath so stealth may be needed when hunting. High tide may be a problem but cache is in a safe enough spot. Parking is only a few yards away on the hill down to the boatyard.

The area was known as the "Stomps" but unsure of the reason why. Could it be derrived from Stamps as in Tin Stamps, there was a smelting works close by. Or was it from Stumps, as in the cut off wooden poles that were sunk in the ground and used in the shipbuilding of days gone by.
