Suga Shrine

Empress Suiko's fee (600 years at the Christian era) according to "Tousya gyuzu tennou engi"

The epidemic went around this ground according to the above-mentioned history in the summer of 9 years (601 years) in Empress Suiko.
However, it carries out and recovery [shitato] is recorded in case of prayer [] a sick recovery people in the village in the shrine because there was a shrine where [ushitoutennou] was enshrined to the forest around here.
Moreover, it appeared in "The heavenly king tomb inscription", "Miscellaneous notes of [**ryou]", "Edo showplace chart association", and "New board [gosairei] sugoroku", etc. , it was called the Gion company, Kuramae [ushitoutennou], the heavenly king of the dumpling, and the heavenly king of the bamboo grass dumpling, etc. in Edo period, seemed to be supported by the note differences of the parishioner who had the financial strength, and the festival to be also grand.

And, it was separated from Tendai sect east [**yama] Kan'ei-ji Temple [shinkagamiyamatakara] present Yuan Daien-ji Temple by the gods and Buddha separation order at the Meiji era and it was renamed to Suga Shrine.
It is a ferroconcrete building of a Shinto shrine where the mishap was losing rebuilt to Great Kanto Earthquake in 1961 because of burnt down of , World War II though it is a company that is from of old.

須賀神社

御創建は｢當社牛頭天王縁起｣によれば推古天皇の御代(西暦６００年)
御祭神は　素盞鳴尊(すさのおのみこと)
御神徳は　目的完遂､病気平癒など

上記の縁起によると､推古天皇九年(６０１年)の夏､この地に疫病が流行しました。
ところが､このあたりの森に牛頭天王を祭った祠があったので､その祠に郷の人々は病気平癒を祈りったところ、尽く快気したと記されています。
また｢天王塚碑文｣､｢求涼雑記｣､｢江戸名所図会｣､｢新板御祭礼双六｣などにも登場し､江戸時代には　祇園社､蔵前牛頭天王､団子天王､笹団子天王､などと呼ばれ､経済力のある氏子の札差らに支えられ　祭礼も盛大であったようです。

そして明治時代の神仏分離令により､天台宗東叡山寛永寺真鏡山宝現院大円寺より分離され須賀神社と改名されました。
古くからある社ですが､関東大震災の災失､第二次世界大戦の焼失のため 昭和36年に再建された鉄筋コンクリートの社殿です。
