Geocache Description:

Fishers lake in Budapest 18th district

The Balázs lake was formed in the nineteen twenties when water broke through the clay hole of the Brick Factory. It was named after the then owner Mr. István Balázs. It is situated in the 18th district of Budapest, on the way to the airport. The Fishing Club of Lörincz has been managing the lake since 1945. The lake has a water surface of app. one hectare and is about 7-8 meters deep in the center, while along the bank the depth is 1,5 - 3 meters. It has a fence around it and large trees which provide comfortable shade in the summer. The lake is mainly for fishing but anyone can take a stroll around it. It can easily be reached by car or public transportation (bus).. The opening hours (according to the fishkeeper): from October to May: 7am to 5 pm from June till October: 5 am to 10 pm The cache is placed outside of the fence so it can be found anytime.
