Located in Springfield Park, the bat houses are easily spotted from paved walk way and cache is only are short distance off path.
Set up to honor Boy Scouting’s 100th Anniversary this series of caches recognizes the hard work Scouts put into their Eagle Scout projects and lets the public see the contribution that these Scouts make. This project, lead by an Eagle Scout from Troop 457 in Bloomingdale, consists of 4 bat houses placed around the Springfield Park wetland restoration project. Each bat house will hold 200 bats and includes the following: a mating chamber (Who knew bats mated upside down), a nursery (To keep the babies separate from the adult males) and a pup catcher (Baby bats are called pups or kits). Please stroll around the lake and look for the four bat houses, 2 of them will have a number on the pole. The coordinates provided will bring you to the first bat house (Sorry no number here) so you will know what they look like. Once you have the two numbers plug them into the coordinates below for the location of the cache.

N 41 57.50S S=Lower of the two numbers + 6
W 088 05.85B B= Higher of the two numbers.

Please use discretion when doing this cache, there is a lot of foot traffic in the area. You are looking for a small lock tight container. Please make sure cache is well hidden when replacing it. As always please pick up any litter in the area, this park gets a lot of use and tends to collect a lot of trash.

For those of you doing the Three Fires Council Puzzle the clue to this part of the puzzle is in the cache, please do not take the card. If the card is missing you can use this to solve the answer:
Coordinate H = (B-S)/S where B and S are the numbers on the poles.
