Geocache Description:

Park at Kapolei Regional Park parking lot off Manawai Street. Lot closes at 7:00 p.m. Additional parking on Manawai Street. Cache is located near the statue of Kapo. Cache is NOT on or by the statue. Please do not step into the plants or go to the statue. High muggle zone.

Kapo is the elder sister of the Hawaiian goddess Pele. It is said that during the month of December at the time of the winter solstice a low weather band obscures the horizon and makes it difficult to see the division between the sea and sky. As the descending sun passes behind this weather band, the sky explodes as its light is refracted and the band of weather turns to many hues of red, orange, yellow and yellow with black spots. These are the colors of Kapo’s lei hala wreath – and the inspiration for the city of Kapolei’s name.

Use some serious stealth. This is a high muggle zone near a busy street. Very little room in the container for trackables or trade items.

~ *~ CACHE IS NOT ON OR BY THE STATUE. DO NOT STEP INTO THE PLANTS OR ATTEMPT TO SEARCH THE STATUE. ~ * ~
