Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES!!

In fact, it is a long way from there!

I got the idea for this cache a few months ago when I was in one of our neighboring states searching for caches. At that time, I had only found two of the required caches, and was intending to find the third one, while there. Since then, I have found the rest.

In order to log this cache, first you will have to find the oldest still active cache (on the date this cache was hidden) in Kansas, and in each of our four neighboring states, and log those finds on geocaching, com. That is a total of only five caches. So it should not require as many miles or time on the road as the Kansas county or Delorme challenge caches. In fact, someone may have already completed this part of the requirements.

Next, you must determine the intersection point of two straight lines between the oldest caches in the states on opposite sides of Kansas.

This may need some clarification, because since the time this cache was hidden, some of these caches have been moved, for various reasons. Therefore, in that case, where one of those caches has been moved, you will have to use the location of that cache at the time this cache was hidden. That may take some extra time searching thru the logs.

Because that intersection point is on private land, once you determine that point, you must project from that point to the actual cache site.

The necessary projection is included in the response you will get from GeoCheck, if your calculations are correct.

You will be looking for an ammo box, located within about 15 ft of a gravel road that could be difficult after rain or snow.

When you log your find online, include the dates that you found the 5 prerequisite caches, but no info about the caches at all!

Do not identify any of the prerequisite caches in any log or note on this webpage, or it will be deleted.

If, in the future, one of the required caches is archived and I learn of it, I will allow you to find the next oldest cache in that state.
At that time, I will list the name and cache number of that archived cache, so it can still be used to determine the actual cache location.

If you have questions or concerns with the cache, please email me, thru my profile link at the top of this webpage.

I hope you enjoy the areas you visit to complete this cache.
