Geocache Description:

This is a TRAVELING CACHE, a rarely seen precursor to the Travel Bug. The Traveling Nut has landed in a beautiful Georgia State Park and plans to rest there a while. He’s traveled all over Georgia and likes the safety of his new digs. He welcomes visitors but please leave him in the ammo can when you find him. His travelers are keeping him company so please leave them with him, too.

This sculpture was initially created by GFD Chuck and left in the “Snellville” cache. Avatar retrieved it a day or so later and immediately fell in love with it. Feeling it would be stingy to keep it to himself, however, figured that a traveling cache would be an ideal way to share him with others. Avatar has gone on to other things and passed him on to Trailerman. Trailerman went walkabout (or is that floatabout?) and the Nut was passed on to me. So, consider me to be the Nut's second stepdaddy.

The cache was originally a nice little sculpture but, unfortunately, the original sculpture was stolen in Texas. His poorly done clone is in this cache. It seems that the combination of travel bug and traveling cache was just too much for some folks to comprehend. Someone went so far as to leave the sculpture next to a microcache. Not in a cache, but sitting beside it. Sheesh. So, I've split up the pair and am sending the travel bug on limited one way missions of mercy and pub crawls.

*UPDATE* 6/29/26 The traveling cache itself will rest in Pine Mountain Trek GCVP13. Do Not Take This Cache Out Of It's Resting Place!

No group finds That means that your name must appear in the log book. (No "I'm signing for a team of five." stuff.) I will be crosschecking the logbook.
