Geocache Description:

Located High above Robin Falls this 50cal ammo tin may prove hard to reach.

I don't know why they built these water falls so far from the car park so you will have a 400m walk on a very rough track to reach the base of these falls. The cache will only be found by climbing so be careful as the rocks can be loose and a fall in this area will hurt. The GPS coverage when the cache was placed was very poor due to the cliffs and rocks so do not expect better than 10m accuracy.

Please assess the risk of climbing before attempting the cache. If you feel you are not able to make the climb don't.

As always stay safe and have fun.

Robin Falls is an attractive three-tiered waterfall that sits just east of the boundaries of Litchfield National Park near the township of Adelaide River on the Dorat Rd. This waterfall is seasonal however so you'll have to time your visit for early in the Dry Season. I suppose you can visit the falls in the Wet Season, but the conditions might make access much more difficult.

The car park for the falls is at the end of a short spur that is a bit rough and rocky (high clearance vehicle recommended though a passenger vehicle can make if you're careful). From the end of the road, you follow the creek upstream as the trail starts off pretty well-defined, but starts to become less defined the further you go. Eventually, some rock scrambling may be required and even when you get to the falls, you might have to scramble on the facing rocks (be careful as it can get very slippery here) in order to see the falls without the rock obstructions.

Look for the somewhat signed car park for the falls some 12km south of the township of Adelaide River on the sealed but narrow Dorat Road. Give yourself about 20-30 minutes each way for the walk to the falls.
