Ciao collega geocacher,

Dopo oltre un mese dalla mia nota, non ho ricevuto alcuna risposta nè visto alcuna modifica.
Se non lo hai ancora fatto, per favore raccogli ogni eventuale resto della cache al più presto possibile. Se hai intenzione di intervenire sulla cache, una volta completata l'operazione per favore lasciatemi un messaggio con il numero waypoint GC relativo alla cache. Sarò più che lieto di verificare nuovamente la cache per verificare la sua conformità con le linee guida.

Grazie per l'attenzione e per ogni ulteriore informazione ti prego di non esitare a contattarmi o attraverso il message center oppure inserendo un log in questa cache.

After more than one month from my last note I didn't receive any answer and no action has been done.
If you haven't done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible. If you are going to fix the problems connected to this cache, once it is ready please drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache. I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

Visibile da ogni angolo dei Sassi. Al suo interno e' custodita la "Madonna della Bruna", celebrata il 2 Luglio di ogni anno.

Matera - The Cathedral
It can be seen from every corner in the old town. Inside there is the statue and the painting of the "Madonna della Bruna" (Saint Day July 2nd).



La cattedrale di Matera è stata costruita nel XIII secolo. Si trova sull'altura che divide in due parti il Rione Sassi: il Sasso Caveoso ed il Sasso Barisano (di cui si gode uno splendido panorama). La chiesa è intitolata alla Madonna della Bruna: all'interno è presente il Quadro della Vergine con il Bambino. E' anche presente una statua che li raffigura.

Il 2 Luglio si svolge la Festa dedicata alla Madonna della Bruna. Le celebrazioni iniziano all'alba con la processione dei pastori che recano in giro per la città il dipinto sacro. Il resto della giornata è dedicato alla processione in costume ed alla distruzione del carro della Bruna (fatto di cartapesta). Nel pomeriggio il carro sfila con a bordo la statua della Madonna. Questa statua viene riportata in serata alla Cattedrale. Da qui (passando di fronte alla cache) il carro addobbato con figure di santi e putti, raggiunge la piazza centrale di Matera (dove di trova un'altra cache). Nella Piazza la popolazione distrugge il carro, per rievocare una tradizione vecchia di 600 anni. Alcune figure sopravvivono allo "strazzo" e raggiungono case e botteghe. Seguono i fuochi d'artificio.
E tutti ad aspettare il prossimo 2 Luglio, dove sarà presentato un nuovo carro ideato e costruito durante l'anno.

E' un contenitore per rullini fotografici, contiene logbook, matita e piccoli oggetti.
Molti mugglers, rinascondete bene la cache, per favore.

The Cathedral of Matera was built in the thirteenth century. It is situated on the top hill which splits in two parts the district "Rione Sassi": the "Sasso Caveoso" and the "Sasso Barisano" (of which you can enjoy a splendid panorama). The church is dedicated to the Madonna della Bruna: inside there is the picture of the Virgin and Child. There is also a statue that portrays them.

July 2nd is the holy day dedicated to the Madonna della Bruna. The morning starts early with the procession of the shepherds who bear around the city the holy painting. The rest of the day two events take place: the procession in costume and the destruction of the chariot (made of papier-mache). In the afternoon the chariot carries the statue of the Holy Mother. In the evening the statue is placed back in the Cathedral. From here (passing in front of the cache) the chariot, decorated with figures of saints and cherubs, reaches the central square of Matera (where there is another cache). In the square the people destroy the chariot, to recall a 600 years old tradition. Some papier-mache figure survives the "strazzo" (the destruction) and they are placed in the houses or in the shops. It follows a fireworks show.
And all the people wait for the next July 2nd, where it will be presented a new chariot, designed and built during the year.

It's a white film canister. It contains only the logbook and little objects.
