Situated in Werneth Low Country park this cache is by a well maintained path. The cache is just off the path and will require some rooting around.
The cache is a small box containing a log book, pencil and originally a keyring. please feel free to swap or take items but please pass them on to other caches.
This point offers amazing views across Manchester, over the field is Hyde cenotaph and the area is supplied with good footpaths and bridleways making access very easy for most people. There are also several car parks nearby.
THe local government website says the following:
The country park extends for 80 hectares (200 acres) across the Northern and Western slopes of Werneth Low. Only 15 kilometres (9.5 miles) from the city centre of Manchester, the area is both a haven for wildlife and an area where visitors can find peace and relaxation. The park's location provides panoramic views across Manchester and beyond to Liverpool. The dark blue silhouette of the Welsh mountains can often be seen on clear days, as can the Pennine hills close by.
Please take time to walk round the park there are many more well placed caches, if you have the time about a mile down the road in Compstall is Etherow country park, ideal for nice walks and duck feeding.
