Geocache Description:

An easy walk with little gradient following line of the river mainly on tarmac. Unmade parts of the walk can be wet under foot in parts at certain times of the year. Should not take longer than 40 mins from either parking spot to find. May be longer if you have little ones in tow! Easy walk to the site but the find may be tricky.

This is a small green water tight box containing a notebook and pencil and a selection of small treasures. We have hidden it on a pleasent footpath walk between St. Albans and Redbourn that follows the River Ver. A popular walk for birdwatchers you are likely to encounter herons, buzzards and red kites and if lucky kingfisher.

Parking 1.
Park at Verulanium Car park and start your walk by walking through St. Michael's church yard and cross the main road into Gorhambury estate. Pick up the river footpath by taking tarmac road to right about half a mile??(est.) into Gorhambury estate. This way may be closed the public on some Saturdays during Pheasant shooting season (winter months).

Parking 2.
You can also park at Redbournbury Mill, signposted off the A5183. Cross the ford and follow the footpath right heading towards St. Albans. There may be cattle in one of the fields that you will cross.
