Here we have another installment of the Battle Lake Run, which winds in and around the Battle Lake area near Mart. This series is actually a spinoff of the nearby SMBR series, as I had run through parts of this area while scouting that series.
This group of hides was set on New Years Day, a theme that creeps into some of the cache names. My apologies for this in advance.
As a matter of interest, Battle Lake still is no more, at least as a body of water. After a prolonged and heavy period of rains, the lake's dam gave way on May 9, 2009, and the lake drained completely in less than 24 hours. At present there are still no funds to restore the dam. Ah, well...
Ok, so it's Hawaiian for Merry Christmas.. but it's close to New Years!
