The cache can be found close to a gravel country road. Please respect this area. No need to cross any fences. The snow if deep may be a challenge.
Back in the day the Gov. would give land to those who would improve it. Mr. William made a claim for land on this range. But by 1910 he had not made enough improvements so gave it to the new folks, Mr and Mrs. Coster. If you look north west to the second field you will see the homestead where the Costers improved the land and raised two children. (you can not see the buildings or what is left of them as they are set back on private property)
When the children grew up, together they owned the land north west of the cache. But as the war, hard times, marrige, death .... came the property was sold.
One of the Coster Children upon request, now rests in a nearby gravesite while the other spends days up on the range hunting, getting in wood and visiting his friends and old nieghbours on the hill. They all know him well. Most people I know love this area and keep coming back to visit.
Today the ol'Coster homestead has a new couple happily raising a family here.
Even though folks made claims to the land, I see it as the land made claim to them. Enjoy this area as so many others have.
