This is part of the Brunswick's Middle Earth series. The caches are in the new Brunswick Nature Park and are all named for places, characters and themes in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The Fellowship charged with helping Frodo carry the One Ring to its destruction in the fires of Mt. Doom stopped to rest and decide on a path at the ancient hill called Emyr Muil. The site of an outpost used by the Men of Gondor long ago, the hill rose above the river Anduin and looked across towards the East and the evil residing there.
This place reminded us of the spot where the Fellowship broke, sending Sam and Frodo to Mordor and the rest to Rohan and Gondor. The river isn't quite so wide and the hill not so tall, but if you're quiet you can imagine the final chapter of the Fellowship of the Ring, first of Tolkien's trilogy.
The cache is a large plastic container with a journal for the FTF - perhaps you can start recording your own adventure!
