Well lets see what can we say bout this cache…….. Going here was some what of a treat. You had to be good all week and hope that mama and daddy had the money at the end of the week. The only other thing was hoping that the line wasn’t to long to get in when we did get to go…….Once inside out of the car and off to the playground we went. Mama would always say be sure yall come back to the car when the lights come on…… Man we would have so much fun on that playground. Sometimes we would be so tired when we got back in the car that we would just lay down and go to sleep, we wouldn’t even know when we got home….. Have you tried to guess yet? ? ? ?
Ok don’t tell me that you don’t remember.
The Mighty Auto Theater.
It is 90 feet wide and 40 feet tall.
The theater will be celebrating its 65th birthday this year!
The screen was first lite up in March of 1945.
It played until 1955 under the eyes of Olin Turner.
Pete Zouras took over in 1956.
The summer that Walking Tall was a big hit, the screen tower was replaced.
Pete stayed until the mid 1980’s. The last picture he played was King Kong.
The screen was dark until the summer of 1999.
It ran for 4 or 5 weeks. The big screen has been dark since.
Then came Tommy and Carolyn. They reopened it in 2009.
Today it is up and running, it even has a Club House Grill on site.
Ok now that you have all the info that you need to get there.
What are you looking for, a medium size lock n lock box.
