Geocache Description:

This is part of the Brunswick's Middle Earth series. The caches are in the new Brunswick Nature Park and are all named for places, characters and themes in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The hidden valley of Rivendell, home of Elrond the Half-Elven, was the Ring's first destination after leaving the Shire in the hands of Frodo the Hobbit. To reach the safety of the elves, Frodo had to escape the Ring Wraiths and managed to see them washed away for a time by Elven magic after crossing the fords.

This spot reminded us of those fords. Feel free to make your own way across the stream to explore the trails on the other side, but don't miss the remains of an old bridge that may have made your journey a bit drier in bygone days.

The cache is a small tupperware with room for tradables and its own pencil.
