When looking at new cache placements available near me, I
couldn't believe that no one had thought about one of Norfolk's
tallest musical memorials at 60 feet high.
This memorial is located on the southeast corner of Norfolk
Street and Wilson Avenue in Simcoe, Ontario. It was dedicated on
June 17th, 1925 in honor of the service men from Norfolk County
killed in World War I. The structure is 60 feet in height by 22
feet square. It is constructed of Hagersville limestone and trimmed
with carved Indianna stone and is set on a pile foundation. It
comprises 23 bells weighing over 8,000 pounds. In 1946, a plaque
was added with the names of those killed in World War II.
