Geocache Description:


This cache was placed for the purpose of seeing more of Somerset West and because we were very bored. So if you need something to keep you busy for a while then give it a try! All you need is an item that costs R30, 00 or more (optional trading) and a very good eye, oh and don’t forget the patients. It consists of 10 places to find clues and the 11th one is the cache. Hope you enjoy finding as much as I enjoyed planting it!
Please replace all the clues and the final cache exactly the same way you found as we all now people just don’t leave those things alone and my other boxes have been stolen before!

History: Die Ou Pastorie Country House and Restaurant dating back to 1819, is one of the oldest remaining buildings in Somerset west and was declared a National Monument in 1986.

The main residence was converted into a restaurant in 1981, reconditioned in 1986 and in 1991 the first wing for guest accommodation was added. In 1996 an additional wing was added.

The farming communities eventually founded the village of Somerset West, when in 1817 they decided to build a Church to avoid the inconvenience of travelling to Stellenbosch. The church was finished in 1820 and on the 13th of February Lord Charles Somerset granted permission for the centre to bear his name. The church is now a historical monument.

This one takes you to a house that is believed to be haunted for many years but the owners that used to live here were very grumpy people so I didn’t bother talking to the people inside to find out what they hear or see now! At this location you need the last number of the date on the roof! 192C

This is beautiful spot to sit and admire the views. Here you are looking for a nano cache, with a number in it!

This takes you to a house and you need the number of panes on the gate? = L
Equation: L + 2 = E

Location 6 = D
Go to: S34°05.804 E 018°52.206
At this location you need to have an open mind! What do you see here? This is a five letter word. Use your Geocaching decrypter to get the decrypted version (A is N & B is O ……) and then work out an equation. If A to Z = 1 to 26 (A=1; Z=26) then work out the equation:

This takes you to a complex you need to count how many holes are in the wall? = H

Park at S 34°03.681 E 018°49.608 and walk to S 34°03.681 E 018°49.673
Please remember not to stop on the R44, because my GPS kept telling me to go that way.(stop on the other side in acasia rd.this is the entrance to a nature reserve)
Question: What number is the squirrel’s residence? = F

This takes you to a place called Worlds View and you are looking for another Nano cache. Clue: Just above head Height. = G

Just please be extra careful as you drive in on the short gravel road not to go near or disturb the first tree on you’re left, there is a bees nest on it and if you are allergic like my husband then rather not torment them. The cache is fairly close to the bees so please be careful, and Kids must stay in the car at this point! In a plastic Tackle box and wrapped in a black bag and please remember to trade up or equal for items that are thirty Rand or more and always remember trading is optional!
