This is a quick dash around some interesting places in Paisley town. It’s by no means extensive and I have only chosen a few of the many things to see in Paisley. In order to do this multi cache you will have to solve some clues along the way. We will collect 10 bits of information and each piece of information will be assigned a letter. A thu J. There will be 9 places to visit starting with the coordinates at the top and we will finish a short distance from the final coordinates which contain letters you will change into numbers.
Go to the coordinates listed above this will take you to Paisley Gilmour Street Station. Facing the exit doors is an information board. Listed there is the name of the square you are standing in. Take the first letter from the name and convert it in the normal way A=1 B=2 etc. Note down the number and assign it the Value A
Step two go to N 55 50 777 W 004 25 417 This takes us across from the shopping center and in from of some bars and a shop selling Scottish souvenirs etc. Look up and find the place that was established in 1964 take the 5 letter of the name and convert it to a number as seen in the first step above. Note the number and give it the value B
Step three. N 55 50 734 W 004 25 445 where we arrive at a statue dedicated to the 92 personnel. On one side there are a list of countries. Look at the first country. Take the 3rd and 6th letters and convert them as above and note them down giving them the values of C and D in that order.
Step four. Go to N 55 50 698 W 004 25 373 where we will meet the queen. Look for the first letter of the first word below Victoria and convert it to a number as above then note it down and give it the value of E.
Step Five. Now off to N 55 50 729 W 004 25 342 and look to the top of the town hall. How many bells are seen in the bell tower? (You may have to walk around it.) note the number and give it the value F.
Step six. Go to N 55 50 728 W 004 25 265 here is Tannahill’s statue and the Paisley Abbey . At his statue look for his birth and death date. Take the second number from his birth and the last number from his death note them down and give them the values of G and H in that order.
Step 7 Go to Paisley Arts Center at N 55 50 623 W 004 25 476 above the door, which faces the main rd, and above the arch count how many letters are in the third word. Note the number and give it the value I (this is the letter (eye) not a number one and this applies to the final cords too).
Step 8 Nearly there no we are off to N 55 50 695 W 004 25 802 the Paisley Museum At the entrance count the number of lamp posts and note the number giving it the value of J
Step 9 Final location before the cache go to N55 50 666 W 004 25 891 as you walk here you will pass the University Of The West Of Scotland formerly Paisley University. The coordinates take you just outside the Coats Memorial Church (Where the little darlings graduate).
That’s it you now have 10 numbers and 10 letters. We will use some of these now to reach the final coordinates. Just change the letters to numbers. N&W excluded of course. N 55 DH IBA W 004 JI HIF Now go get it it not far.
