This is the first of a series to try to help people overcome their addiction to Pile-Of-Rocks caches. I was struck with this idea after a 0 for 5 record for POR caches in one day. Whether you have an overwhelming urge to make a fellow cacher turn over 837 rocks or you yourself like figuring out that a ten foot accuracy results in a 400 square-foot, ankle-turning field of dreams, this will help free you from the monkey on your back. Each will be an example of an alternative to the POR, but in the same immediate area. Feel free to take notes and employ them liberally when the urge arises.
