TheCur8or: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Geocache Description:

A JUMBO cache at a beautiful end-of-the-road beach 'burb.

Well, how long do ya want? Most visitors will leave St.Hwy. 1 at some point and tour some lovely rural bits of Waikato.

Last stop for most supplies is Tuakau, so plan ahead. Less than 300 people live at Port Waikato, so it's a lovely quiet little 'burb on the beach.

Port Waikato - Where the mighty Waikato meets the sea
The landscape changes dramatically on your way to Port Waikato and Sunset Beach enjoyed by surfers and fishermen alike. Relaxed holidays, picnics and outdoor activities attract visitors to the charm of this west coast community. The limestone formations in this area were one of the backgrounds used in the filming of the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.

A lovely garden near the Port of Waikato wharf is worth a stop with a nearby shop for ice creams, toilets and such.

Check out other caches along the way! Bring the surf board or fishing gear!

AT CACHE SITE: Park in such a way as to block the view of muggles. This is a LARGE container so you'll attract attention once you bring it out. Super FIRM pressure ON THE RIM of the cache will close it tightly to keep moisture out and fun in! Hear it CLICK or THUD into place? Thanks.

Cache is a 10 litre paint bucket, possibly one of the largest examples of a LARGE cache in NZ.

Tuck it back in properly so it is not subject to muggle discovery!

Cache contains heaps of fun! Logbook & pens, of course, but then there's also JUMBO playing cards, beach toys, whistles, clip-on key rings, JUMBO dice, KayakNKiwi soft toy, map, misc toys and useful items!

The FTF prize is tweezers, something I ALWAYS like to have in my cache bag!

ALSO: Cache In Trash Out bags- Take & USE one please as you cache the area.

Let me know when maintenance is needed, or that you've done some for me. Much appreciated!
