Lowveld Chestnut Traditional Cache
Fish Eagle: We've got the seedpods we need to make a new cache, but it's too wet now, so we'll rather kill this listing, and make a new listing if and when we make a new cache.

This is your opportunity to get up close and personal with Lowveld
Chestnut trees.
This tree is endemic to the area - ie: only found in the Mpumalanga
Lowveld, and nowhere else in the world.
Despite such a limited range, they are very common in the Nelspruit
area.
The easiest way of identifying this tree is by the spikey seed
pods, which you'll either see on the tree, or find lying on the
ground beneath. These seedpods are often used as ornaments and
ashtrays.
The pods are surprisingly tough, and will last almost indefinately
if kept dry. The spikes are covered with fine hairs, which can
cause minor irritation to the skin.
Just south of the cache, you'll see a rockery of note in the
nearby residence's backyard - WOW!!
