This new hide is close to the play equipment but NOT on it. There is a table very close and it should not be too big an issue for lone caches with out children even if the equipment is being used. (Good hint added)
We placed this cache here as it is a great park with BBQs, clean toilets, sheltered seats and tables, a Skate Park plus a very good play ground for the kids, either big or small.

This park also had a very interesting beginning.
Neerim South had a problem with anti-social behaviour and petty vandalism around the town.
When asked the youths said it was mainly caused through boredom. So with the assistance of Sgt Craig Watts, YAPP (Youth and Police Partnership) was formed in 2003. YAPP then decided to do something about the boredom and erect a Skate and Teenage Park they could call their own.
In 2004 the group convinced the Baw Baw shire to aquire the land between the schools and also provide a bit of a financial input.
This input was nowhere near what they required so YAPP had to convince the local community as to why they should help raise donations. They did a fantastic job as they raised approximately $138,000 to enable them to erect this skate and teenage park in town.
Councillor for Tarago Ward, Gary Blackwood said,
“Its been a real pleasure being involved with this project. YAPP, the primary and secondary schools and the local community deserve to be congratulated for their efforts.
It’s a real credit to our community that we have raised such a large sum of money. It just shows the nature and spirit of the people of Neerim District.”
Sgt Watts said,
“These kids have had to work so hard to get this project up and running. There is a real sense of ownership over it.”
“The biggest reward for them will be when they can skate at the park and enjoy themselves after school and on weekends. It’s a great lesson for everyone about what hard work can get you.”
This 200ml sistema cache is hidden away from the Skate Park and Playground but you may need stealth at times.
