Geocache Description:

This is a short walking multicache that will show you views at Pennsbury Manor that the casual visitor might not find. The country estate of William Penn is strategically located on the Delaware River, a day's boat ride to Philadelphia and a short distance to Lenni Lenape settlements. William Penn only spent three years here, but his influence echos through the centuries. Tour the new visitor's center, walk the grounds and explore the buildings to experience our founder's Pennsylvania.

Note: this cache is on the premises of Pennsbury Manor with permission. It is only available during hours the visitor center is open, and requires a grounds pass, full ticket or membership for admission. You do not need to enter any of the buildings that require a ticket. Access in any other way is considered trespassing. The site is monitored and patrolled by the Pennsylvania State Police. Please "mind your manors" so we can keep this cache available. Also, neither the clues or cache require you to do anything that violates site rules. Take your time and enjoy the views at each stage.

Your initial coordinates are for the Pennsbury Manor visitor center. Park there, go into the visitor center. From there proceed to the manor house and obtain the numbers over the front door. Take the two numbers to the right and plug them to replace "xy" below, then proceed to this waypoint:

N40 7.9xy
W74 46.110

Once at this location, figure out which way the smiling sun is looking. How many windows can you see looking that way? Use the number to replace "n" in the coordinates below, and proceed to your next waypoint:

N40 7.94n
W74 46.0n9

At this location, look toward the water and count the number of really big trees lining the path. If the answer is AB, calculate B-A=C. Use C in the coordinates below, then proceed to the waypoint:

N40 7.9C
W74 46.16C

Once at this waypoint, determine the number of people named on a single flat surface, and use this number to replace "gh" below and proceed to the final location:

N40 8.046
W74 46.1gh

When you reach the final location, look for Wiliam Penn's coat of arms. When you are facing it from about 5 feet away, look behind you, over your right shoulder. The cache is concealed within easy reach. It is a cylinder that can hold small items and a log.

First-to-find reward is a gift certificate to the visitor center gift shop.

Good luck and have a great visit to Pennsbury Manor!
