Geocache Description:

This cache is one of three that will give you partial coordinates for my Mystery cache called Journey to The Center of Northbrook (GC22WXA). The other two are called Check Out….Freedom Park (GC22WXE) and A Leisurely Stroll (GC22WXN). When you find this one, make sure you jot down the numbers provided under the lid. Once you find all three, you can find the Mystery cache too.

When I started geocaching, I began looking for caches that were near home. At that time, Mongoose66 had a cache hidden in this park called Step Up To The Plate. I came out 2 or 3 times early in my caching career and could not find it. First I thought it was on the bleachers. Then I thought it was hidden on the bench in the third base dugout. Finally, after I had some more experience finding caches, I figured out it must be hidden in a fence post and that you needed to pull off one of the caps atop the post to make the find. I confidentially drove to the park and to my disappointment, the cap was gone and so was the cache. After emailing Mongoose to confirm my suspicions, he disabled the cache and then recently archived it, giving me an opportunity to use this park for this cache. The title of mine is a tribute to one of the caches that got away.

While the name is similar to Mongoose’s cache, it is not hidden in the same area of the park.

The cache is a camouflaged peanut butter jar can hold some small trade items or smaller travel bugs.
