Geocache Description:

GreenBLAT & KiwiLeon would like to invite you for a camping and BBQ event. After last years successful O man, A BBQ campout! event in Omana Regional park, this years Waitangi Day event will be held near Muriwai beach (West of Auckland)

The area is renowned for its picnic facilities and other activities including: surfing, rock fishing, beach fishing, mountain biking, kite boarding, paragliding, land sailing plenty geocaches nearby or just lying on the beach - and of course the rare and significant gannet colony which is growing in size every year.

ACTIVITIES

On the day some Geocachers will do the “Goldie Bush” loop walk. (visit link)

On Sunday morning 7 February 2010, after everybody has packed up their tent, there will be another walk along the Muriwai coast to do the following caches:

(visit link) (visit link)

Low tide is around 11am so we will probably leave around 10am.

Anyone interested in both walks or just one of them are welcome to join us.

Please send us an email if you interested in coming along for the walks.

OR YOU CAN JUST COME ALONG FOR THE BBQ.

The BBQ will be fired up starting at about 4:30pm. Please bring your food to grill, and a salad or side dish to share, along with plates, cutlery etc and something to sit on.

For those opting to stay on and join those of us camping overnight, there is a campsite. The campsite is a motor camp so camper vans are welcome too. Please book your own campsite. Details of the facilities (flush toilets and hot showers!), charges, and booking instructions are on their website at (visit link)

If you've booked your campsite, please let GreenBLAT know, so we can (try) to coordinate with the campground owner to group us together.

All are welcome, Come One, Come All

Please bring any Travel Bugs and Geocoins for others to enjoy and if you want some Travel Bugs and Geocoins to travel please bring them along too.

If anyone wants to attend but has logistical difficulties such as transport or camping gear, log a note and anyone who can help out please respond. If need further info, txt or phone GreenBLAT (Alan) on 021 315028 or KiwiLeon (Leon) on 0275 943973.
