Geocache Description:

This is a "Welcome to Whidbey" cache for the whole family. Easy find. Our first hide! Placed the day we retired from here. The Executive Director is happy to welcome Geocachers! Cache is in front yard. Don't go into fenced back yard. If "visitor" parking is full, just make a "U" turn, point towards highway and pull all the way off the road because there is heavy-vehicle traffic through here.

Coupeville on Whidbey Island is in the "Banana Belt" or the "Rainshadow" and gets half the 36" of rain Seattle does. There is only a portion of Whidbey Island that is in this belt. Take a journey up and down our beautiful paradise of an island and have a great time. There are parks, beaches, quaint towns, and views of the Olympic and Cascade Mountain Ranges with two ferries serving the island.

Initial cache holds: poncho, sun visor (sometimes you need both at once here!), island stickers, bus, hot wheels, silly putty and Buzz Lightyear flashlight.
