Winter in the Miami Valley and it can mean only one thing: Time for another MVG Great Dayton Winter Getaway - our sixth annual.

Geocachers near and far have made the winter getaway event one of the highlights of the area. We hope to once again achieve a masterpiece with this year's event.
We will be meeting in the Rotunda of the Dayton Art Institute for a little chatter and instruction. Then the permanent collection will be our playground for a couple hours while we enjoy an information scavenger hunt. Information that is gathered from the hunt will be used to find several event only caches that will be placed for the day's event. Finally, when all that is done, we will eat and meet for some geocaching talk, trackable trading and discovery, and a whole lotta fun.

As always, the scavenger hunt and event caches are free - you are on your own for dinnner.

Schedule of events:
11:00 - NOON Meeting and greeting in Dayton Art Institute Rotunda
11:00 - 2:00 Informational scavenger hunt and event caches
2:00 - 4:30 Meet and Eat at restaurant


After the scavenger hunt and event caches we will meet up at the Marion's Pizza 3433 N Dixie Rd at Wagner Ford Rd for the meet and greet. A few door prizes will be given away and lots of geocaching fellowship and good eating!

When posting your will attend log please indicate the number in your party so that we may try to plan ahead with the two venues - thanks!

We will be crowning the 2009 Red Baron Travel Bug Race Winner at this event.

For the 2010 - MVG Travel Bug Race - we will have the travels bugs on the 20th. This year's travel bug are Custom '42 Jeeps and we will have 15 available for the race.
Drop us a note or email if you are interested in purchasing one. They will be $8.00 each or 2 for $15.00 for those who want to challenge family members.
When all 15 are gone we will post all the competitors on the MVG website and follow the race.
First place will be an unactivated geocoin. We will also have prizes for second and third.

Please note change of final meeting location - due to reservation issues. The new location at Marions should give us plenty of room to do our thing!
