Geocache Description:

Come to an 'Arty

An exciting and unusual event in Barrowden in Rutland, over the whole weekend.

I’m lucky to live in a house one of the best views in Rutland, if not in all England. Sadly I don’t own it, but I can enjoy it and share it. Hence this event. Here's the view from the event location.

I’m an artist (what, you guessed from my caching name?) and I’m arranging a weekend of arty caching. There will   cache-inspired art and art-inspired caches of all kinds.

There will be micros hidden within pictures (like this one where a micro is hidden under a stone) and caches hidden around the garden and in the field that drops gently down to the winding river.

There will also be some sculptures of life sized cachers, made of sellotape. Yes really, they are made of sellotape. I used some of my geocaching friends as models and some of them might even be hiding a TB  to discover...

I'll be providing refreshments, plus I'll be putting on some arty activities for the kids (or adults for that matter) to dabble with and make their own masterpieces. This will be as free as I can make it, just to cover costs. You are invited to bring a picnic and eat it in the garden or in the field down by the river.

Everyone is welcome to this event and I'm looking forward to welcoming friends, old, new and yet to be.

If you are an artist and want to bring some art, or have any arty ideas to incorporate into this event, please let me know.

Barrowden and its surrounding villages in the Welland Valley is a caching heaven already, with lots of interesting and puzzling caches to look for before and after your visit. Why not stay nearby make a weekend of it? The nearest camp site is Wing Hall, Station Rd, Wing, Rutland 01572 737709 or  check out Rutland's Tourist Information for b&b accommodation.

Venue: The Rectory, 11 Church Lane, Barrowden, Rutland  LE15 8ED at the given co-ordinates. However, please park in Church Lane or up by the pond and pub and village green, as it can get a bit crowded down by the church Thanks.

Drop in any time between 10am - 5pm on Sat 12th or Sunday 13th June, or both. Let me know which.
