Geocache Description:


I was driving around Northport and decided to make a turn on a road that I have never driven down. I discovered an old, fairly large, mostly unkept cemetery on a hillside inside of the city. I had to get out and look around. Some of the grave markers date back over a century. The cemetery grounds need some serious maintenance. The grass has grown up and is 2-4 feet high in places. The foliage is overgrown and is taking over some of the graves and markers. The tree line in the back of the cemetery has grown forward and swallowed a good many of the grave markers. It looks kind of eerie to see some of the grave markers hidden inside of the tree line as you walk by. I decided to place a cache here for the history and just maybe somebody that finds this cache would know why this cemetery, that has hundreds of graves and markers, is in such bad shape. If you find this cache and have the answer, please let me know.

**No graves or grave markers need to be tampered with to find this cache***

There is a small single lane entrance to the cemetery that you can use for parking. There is no need to park on the side of the road.

The cache is a lock n lock that contains a log book and a few trade items.
