In March and July, 1945, near the end of the World War II, the B29 bombers of the U.S. air force came flying in to Choshi City sky and carried out a large-scale air raid.
In those days, the rather small city of Choshi (only 60,000 inhabitants) was of no particular strategic value as it had no military installations or munitions factories. A premeditated air raid was added when Choshi was recognized “as the second largest city on the Chiba Peninsula and a foothold of important fisheries that supply Tokyo".
Due to such circumstances, you can now see the remains of actual air-raid shelters in several places in Choshi.
The cache is hidden just after you go through the air-raid shelter located along the seashore
There are 2 ways to access the cache point, as well as an emergency exit:
Access method 1
Go through the air-raid shelter. (Flashlight is necessary. The air-raid shelter splits in to two paths but both paths lead to the exit. It takes less than 1 minute to reach the exit.)
Access method 2
Go through the bushes on top of the shelter. (There is no path so it is rather difficult to walk through.)
I have added the emergency exit as a waypoint.
The shelter might cave-in if there is a natural disaster such as a big earthquake or flood. If you feel you might be in danger, please use the emergency exit.
