Four Hundred NinetySeventh in the Famous People (FP) Series - Granny (Daisy Moses)
Called "Granny" by all, relatives or not, shotgun-toting Daisy Moses, Jed's mother-in-law, is a hot-tempered daughter of Dixie who loathed the move to California. She styled herself an "M.D." — "mountain doctor" — claiming to have a complete knowledge of herbs (which she pronounced "yarbs"), potions and tonics.

Granny (played by Irene Ryan in all 274 episodes) set up a still in the back of the Clampett mansion in Beverly Hills, by the "cee-ment" pond so she could brew a secret recipe for her private stock of moonshine (a.k.a. "White Lightnin'"(cause it gets into the blood stream twice as fast) or Mountain Dew). Granny knew her still was illegal but she insisted her moonshine was just to be used for medicinal purposes only. It was her "rheumatiz medicine." And when pressed, she admitted her whiskey wouldn't cure rheumatism, but "it'll make ya happy ya got it!" Two sips was enough for whatever ailed ya.

She was also able to tell the precise time, to the minute and even the second, by looking at the position of the sun. Granny's foot marker is near the location of this matchstick container in the Friendship Cemetery.
