The cache is located between the two lakes of Orfü, on the northeast side of Balázs-hill, among the rocks above the Dragon's well.
Dragon's Well (Sárkány-kút in Hungarian)
This special karst spring on the northeast side of the Balázs-hill is active only occasionally throughout the year. The reason for its special behavior is, that when in the underground cave system formed in the trias lime stone, the water reaches a certain level, it breaks out. These water outbreaks start with great intensity. The outbreak takes about 2 hours. It is a rare phenomenon.
Feel lucky if you see the active spring, but don't be disappointed if you visit in an inactive period. The moss-grown rocks are pretty all year round.
The Legend of the Dragon's Well
According to the legend, a dragon that had seven heads lived in this area. It lived below the ground, but came out to the sunlight every once in a while.
Once, when it went back to its cave, a huge storm broke out, so huge that it even moved the rocks of the Mecsek. A large piece of rock fell right in front of the entrance of the dragon's cave. When the monster tried to come out, it could not move the rock that blocked the entrance. He tried to push it with all his mighty and as he pushed and pushed, the ground cracked all around, and the water flooded out from deep below.
Eventually, the dragon got tired of all the strenuous work and fell asleep. When it woke up, it set to pushing again. This is why the spring's activity fluctuates.
When the dragon is working on rolling the rock out of the way, the spring is running, when the dragon is sleeping, the spring dries out.
So, be careful in the forest, don't bother the dragon, it may be even guarding the cache.
