Geocache Description:

The Viñales valley is encircled by mountains and its landscape is interspersed with dramatic rocky outcrops. Traditional techniques are still in use for agricultural production, particularly of tobacco. The quality of this cultural landscape is enhanced by the vernacular architecture of its farms and villages, where a rich multi-ethnic society survives, illustrating the cultural development of the islands of the Caribbean, and of Cuba.

The Viñales valley is an outstanding karst landscape in which traditional methods of agriculture (notably tobacco growing) have survived unchanged for several centuries. The region also preserves a rich vernacular tradition in its architecture, its crafts, and its music.

Valle Ancón
Mostly untouched by tourism, this least-visited and unspoilt of the valleys in Viñales is also the most complicated to explore and can become uncomfortably muddy in the rain. There's a small village of the same name, plenty of coffee plantations and a number of hard-to-find caves and rivers, but the rewards are usually outweighed by the effort needed to get there.

The given coordinates will lead you to the entrance of the floaded cave. The water is warm enough to swim all year round. This place is usually deserted, so you could also swim in to the cave naked. The swimming distance is about 200meters one way, but you can hold surrounding walls if you need. You will need a head flashlight (prefferably watterproof) and you will have to swim from the entrance slightly to the left (major watter corridor). After about 50 meters you will get to the chamber full of nice stalactites. Swim around that middle stalasnite and again slighty to the left (the only way). Follow the corridor to the very end. Check how does the ceiling on the very

And here comes questions for you:

1. What is the shape of the ceiling on the very end of that cave? (half rounded, square, triangular, half elipse,...) The bottom for you is the watter level.
2. What kind of mineral prevails in the cave system?
3. Take a picture of you in front of the cave or in the watter and ad it to your log.
4. How was the swimming? :-)

Consider your health condition before you go there. You sholdn't swimm here alone, but if you do, let someone know that you are going to swimm here.
