Geocache Description:

This cache is a Lock-N-Lock box not hidden aggressively. There is plenty of parking; access is not a problem.

This cache is one in a series of 12 caches highlighting Boy Scouts of America Eagle Projects from the area. An Eagle Project is a service project that a scout plans & carries out for a not-for-profit organization that allows him to use the leadership skills he has developed during his Scouting journey. This cache is highlighting an Eagle Project at this location. The concrete stairs between the two parking lots were completed by a scout from Troop 580 in 2004. The scout had to develop the scope, organize the fund raising and lead the construction. Troop 580 is located at this church. The Troop has had 42 Eagle Scouts; quite an accomplishment. There were other Eagle Projects completed at the church including the storage building in the back as well as the benches at the end of the parking lot.

This cache resides in the Sweetwater District which is part of the Northeast Georgia Council. It is part of the Get in the Game geocaching game that the NEGA Council is putting on. The year of 2010 marks the 100th Anniversary of Scouting. As you find the 12 caches in the series, each cache box contains a clue which will be needed for the co-ordinates of a 13th mystery cache.

Special thanks to Danny Staton, Scout Master of Troop 580, for assistance with this cache and for his long term service to Scouting.
