Geocache Description:

Winter friendly cache with a view...

Local folks have always called this hill “Miles Peak”, referring to how it seemed to stand alone from all the other ridges surrounding it. As you look around from this vantage point, you’ll see many of the other ridges that have cache placements on them already – it seemed like placing a cache here was the thing to do… Enjoy the scenery and since this area is privately owned but open to the public, I’ve included the following acknowledgement:

“Plum Creek first entered Wisconsin in 2001 when it merged with The Timber Company and acquired land in the state. Plum Creek grew its Wisconsin presence further when it acquired land from Stora Enso in 2002. Plum Creek, one of the largest private landowners in the state, is a land and timber company whose core business is timber management. The company also manages some of its land for conservation, recreation, natural resources and community development. The company is committed to sustainable forestry and environmental responsibility and works in partnership with local and state governments to ensure it meets or exceeds all forestry rules, regulations and environmental laws.
Plum Creek understands and is part of the special way of life in northern Wisconsin, and as such recognizes and supports the many recreational activities Wisconsin's forestlands provide. That is one of the reasons why Plum Creek offers public access on much of its land. Through Wisconsin's Managed Forest Law program, approximately 98 percent of Plum Creek's Wisconsin land is publicly accessible for hunting, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling and more.” - www.plumcreek.com/wisconsin

Permission was granted to place this cache by Plum Creek Representative, Todd Watson, Senior Resource Forester, Central Wisconsin.
