The Bethlehem-Center School District was formed by a merger of local school districts in the late 1950s. It is comprised of Centerville, Deemston, and Beallsville Boroughs with East and West Bethlehem Townships. In 2009 the high school celebrated fifty years and invited the class of 1959 back to the school for the festivities. Also in 2009 Beth.-Center High School was recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the best high schools in the nation. Proud of its mining and agricultural heritage these schools continue to educate the outstanding young people of Bethlehem-Center School District.
In its first incarnation this was a dog-themed cache with dog / pet items inside. When that original cache went missing in the fall of 2018 it became more traditional. It is currently stocked with Boy Scout patches and pencils. Bit of a walk in the woods – the terrain can get rather steep, depending on how you approach the cache. Be sure to park at the coordinates given here. Do not try to park along the road – it can get busy and dangerous. Always use caution.
Note the woodpecker holes very near to the location of the cache.
Do not attempt this cache between 7:15 AM - 7:45 AM and 2PM -2:35PM during the school year. These are the arrival and departure times for students. It is best to park at these coordinates: N40 01.232 and W80 01.700 at parking slots 1, 2, 3. Other parking slots are assigned. Of course, it is best to visit this cache in the summer, but it can be attempted anytime during daylight hours.
The school has given permission for this cache but it is always best to be as inobtrusive as possible.
