Geocache Description:

Saturday, February 20, 2010

5:00pm to 8:00pm

LQQK here

I would love to thank each and everyone that attended.
From the ones here in NH and those from Mass and Maine.
Even the few that came from NY just to attend this event. WOW.
And of course OHIO.

We are in debt to the Boatrs for their gracious hospitality.

As I said before the "Attendees" is who actually make the event, and for that my hat is off to everyone in attendance.

What better way to spend a cold Saturday Night.

  • Meet up with friends in Deerfield NH.
  • Start a large Bonfire.
  • Stand around and chat with friends.
  • Cook some S'Mores.
  • Roast some Hot Dogs.

We thought it would be a great idea as a mid-winter gathering.

What else we have to offer for all who attend:

  • A place for the kids (young and old) to do some sledding. If you want to come early.
  • Plenty of parking along the class 6 road.
  • A large field for gathering.
  • A warm basement just incase you need to warm up in and the rejoin us at the Bonfire.
  • If there is something you can offer please let us know.

Housekeeping:
Since this event is being held on Private Property with owners permission, I want to make sure we leave the place in great shape. So please help out where you can.

  • We will need clean wood to burn. Pallets / logs mostly. I will be getting some from work. We want to make sure we have enough so please list in your "Will Attend" logs how many you will be bringing.
  • We will need some small stuff to help get it going and to add every now and then as well.
  • If you have a "water-buffalo" or other faire safety equipment that you can bring please let us know as well. Just to be on the safe side.

Comments from the Peanut Galery. (I mean very nice people)

  • Zugbug and I will be there. We don't have wood to bring so will bring a raffle donation instead.
  • Boatrs, We plan to be there very early. There are a lot of trails for x-country skiing and snowshoeing if we still have snow. We will also bring a small charcoal grill if anyone wants to throw something on it.
  • Balrgn, I'll see what I can get for wood, please E-mail me for what kind you need, Split or brush type. I'll bring a rake and shovel for fire tending.
  • Kayak Kouple, We will be there .....with something to burn and a thermos of something warm too ! Ok...and a few chairs...maybe Dick will bring his fire poker too !
  • gworol, We will plan to bring the makings for s'mores.
  • outlooker123, Weather permitting, I plan on attending. I'll be bringing some sort of snack food to share.
  • Boatrs, We have 2 tables we can bring - one is rather small. We also have an old picnic table we can try but it may be more useful for the bonfire than a table.
  • Knead2 Teach, We will bring a snack and some wood.
  • OleSeeker, I doubt I can come up with any combustibles but will definitely bring goodies.
  • THEHIWAYMAN - I HAVE WOOD!!!! will bring to burn......;-) also IMO a bonfire isn't a bonfire with out music, so might I suggest... I have a small honda generator that is wisper quiet(not needed) and an outdoor sound system that I have used for such events in the past...
Bluegrass music around a bonfire is always good!!! but I dont want to over complicate anything...
Also does anyone attending play guitar??? I play Banjo (sort of) that might be fun...
How many young kids are attending? A story time for the kids might be cool...I'll volunteer to read the Tailypo book...(ITS WAY TO SCARY FOR ADULTS) ;-)
  • Team.TFTC - Video of a BonFire will be GREAT!
And .. OK.. Ill leave the Guitar at home for fear it will get thrown into the fire as fuel!
