Geocache Description:

Near Butes railway track

This town has a wonderful feel about it, near the cache the community has just put in a skate park. Near by there is the playground,toilet facilities, a old harvesting plant (stripper) and over the road is the hotel, community museum/craft shop and local deli.
This towns Railway siding was called the 'Seventeen Mile' siding because it was seventeen miles to the port at Wallaroo.In recent years it had been used as a tourist train run between Kadina and Bute,when this was happenning the whole Bute community would come along to welcome the day visitors to their beautiful town, it was a full days outing but sadley with the economy in decline this activity has stoppped.
Because of this towns attractions you may have a bit of difficulty getting the cache when no ones around, even on these hot nights the local children are using the skate park past 11.00pm.I've put the cache in an obvious location that is visible to everyone, there are very few hiding spots so please make sure that it is put back in the same area and well placed,good luck.
