Geocache Description:

Rocklands Reservoir is a picturesque area very rich in flora and fauna and local history

Lying west of the Grampians National Park and also includes the Black Range State Park

The area is very popular for camping, fishing and bird watching

The town of Balmoral is situated on the Glenelg River and is the place of my early childhood where I spent a lot of time fishing at Rocklands hence the cache name

The construction of the reservoir began in 1940 but during the second world war it was occupied by the RAAF for training purposes

Finally completed in 1953 the shore line is over 400klm in length and here I have placed my first cache. This is an easy find and you will be looking for a small container with a log book and the usual swaps

Also a scratchie is in place for a first to find [ and of course 10% of any winnings Yeah Yeah] and a Travel Bug

Have fun finding the cache and enjoy
