Chapel Gully Trail
This remarkable trail enables you to hike along the easternmost point of mainland Nova Scotia. Named for the Star of the Sea Church, which stands near the start of the trail, the Chapel Gully Trail offers rugged ocean coastline, tidal flats and boreal forest. Benches are frequent, and the trail has picnic tables in several locations, including the long bridge spanning Chapel Gully. The trail is a full 2 to 3 hour hike along shoreline and through beautiful woodland and winds past the site of the former “Pest House” and interpretive panels explain how this site was once a segregation compound during the early 1800s.
