This series is in honour of the industry which brought life to the town of Corby. There aren’t many Caches around or in Corby and so I have decided to place a series. Corby’s Steel works brought people from far and wide to work here, my own parents were from Durham and Scotland arriving as children when my Grandparents moved here for work. This is the third of the series – Weldon Quarry now known as Weldon Woodland Park. Although completely landscaped now to a nice park where the kids can play and dogs can run around, it used to be a large Iron Ore site for the Steel Works. This is a Multi-Stage Cache featuring 4 locations which you need to visit to find a tag that will each give you one part of the coordinates for the Final. The tags you are looking for are green metal Paw print shaped tags which will each give you part of the coords needed for the final. Ensure you note the informaton from each one. This is a pleasant walk around the lovely and surprisingly large Weldon Woodland Park situated near Weldon village near Corby. It is a great place to walk the dog or take the children. There is a football field, basketball court, play equipment, cycle track and even a skating ramp. There is a few small ponds and on this walk you will come very close to the river and a small lake, please take care with children and dogs. However you may see some interesting wildlife inclduing Herons! The final is a regular box with lots of swaps, especially suitable for children. (This cache used to be called Weldon Wanderer but was changed on 24/5/11).
