I've been driving by this old shoe-tree for
about 20 years now and even back then it looked old and neglected.
I am not really too sure of the history of this tree nor do I know
what the meaning of a shoe-tree really is. If anyone knows the
history and meanings of shoe-tree's I'd love to hear about it.
Especially if anybody knows the history of this particular
tree.
The tree is right beside the road so it is
perfect for a quick drive by, but be prepared, this might be
anything but quick! The cache is a small lock & lock container
and can hold small items. I will tell you right now that the cache
is inside some form of footware. (EWWWW, YUCK) If touching old
footware that has been hanging on a tree for 20 plus years is a
problem for you, then I might suggest you bring a pair of gloves. I
warned you.
Attached to the cache I have installed a black
cable tie that is suppost to act as a handle so you can simply pull
the cache out of it's hiding place. Find this handle and give it a
pull. This is how you will find the cache.
You'd be surprised how busy this stretch of road
can be. You'll see anything from vehicles to farmers driving
tractors to people dog walking to joggers and people simply walking
down the street. My advice, keep smiling and pretend you LOVE
SHOES!
This tree is located close to a farmers field
access. Please be respectfull and watch out for possible farm
machinery, especially during planting and harvesting. .
Congratulations Hooligansx2 on a very well
deserved yet Stinky FTF!
