ELFIN HOLLOW is the next cache in this trio.
I would bet few know of this area of absolute beauty and peace
located at the end of this country road. It's a magic place where
you can bring a lunch and unwind amongst huge redwoods set aside
from the lumberjack's saws so that we can enjoy them.
The Elfin Sentry stands guard to oversee all who enter the area and
make sure they follow the woodchip paths and the rules of the
forest while here. He wants you to check in if you are geocaching
so that the Elfin Consulate has a record of those geocachers who
have entered and can read about their journeys here. (The Elfin
Consulate is very congenial that way!)
When you enter under the sign above, you will follow your magic
compass toward the Sentry's lair. His outpost should not be hard to
find, though the magic compass loses some ability in the wonderful
trees here (they conspire to keep visitors from getting too serious
about detail while here). Once you get near, you will be able to
see the small path that winds behind and up to his perch. Please
take care to keep the path from looking traveled! Look over the
edge and down to see the keeper of the log, which you will remove
to sign in, replacing it carefully and so that it can be seen if
the next person looks but keeping it hidden from the odd muggle.
Take care also to invest a certain amount of stealth when the area
is highly occupied, which may occasionally happen, so that the
outpost is not given away. The Elfin Consulate maintains this
outpost purely for your benefit as a geocacher.
Enjoy the area! Please visit LandPaths for information on saving and
enjoying our precious open space! Consider joining or becoming a
volunteer!
