Am Südhang

Der Bienitz - Das nördliche Ende der Rückmarsdorf / Dehlitzer Endmoräne.
Eine Endmoräne ist eine wallartige Aufschüttung von Gesteinsmaterial am Ende eines Gletschers und kennzeichnet die Linie eines maximalen Gletschervorstoßes oder eines Gletscherstillstandes. Endmoränen entstehen, wenn sich am Ende eines Gletschers Abschmelzen und Eisnachschub die Waage halten. Der Eisrand bleibt dann über längere Zeit stabil. Das Eis selbst bewegt sich aber nach wie vor. Da der Eisrand nicht schnurgerade verläuft sondern in einzelne Loben (Gletscherzungen) zerfällt, haben auch Endmoränen ein solchen lobenartigen Verlauf. Die Berührungsstelle zwischen zwei Loben nennt man auch Endmoränengabel. Dort befinden sich meist besonders kräftig ausgeprägte Endmoränen.
So auch der Bienitz. Sein Entstehungsdatum wird auf 230.000 bis 130.000 Jahre vor heute datiert. Ihn formte die Saalekaltzeit. Diese war die mittlere von drei größeren in Nordeuropa aufgetretenen Vergletscherungen durch den skandinavischen Inlandeisschild. Somit sind am geologischen Aufbau des Bienitzrückens besonders die saaleeiszeitlichen Schichtglieder beteiligt. Im Vorfeld des Eises kam es jedoch zur Wiederablagerung von Schluffen und Sanden, die heute als Löss und Sandlöss den überwiegenden teil des Gebietes überdecken. Nachfolgend entwickelten sich im Kuppengebiet auf ärmeren Sandböden Braunerden. In den Hanglagen besserte sich mit zunehmender Mächtigkeit bindiger Substrate auch die Wasser – und Nährstoffversorgung. Die wasserstauende Grundmoräne in geringer Tiefe begründete somit den Austritt zahlreicher Quellen. Die letzte wasserführende Ader am Bienitz ist die Hunnenquelle. Ihr könnt sie auf dem Rundpfad (roter strich auf weißem grund ) bequem erreichen.

Der Bienitz befindet am Westrand einer Bodenlandschaft die als Leipziger Lösstiefland bezeichnet wird. Im Jahre 1998 wurden am Bienitz sechs Bodenprofilgruben aufgegraben. An einer gedachten Kette von 550 m Luftlinie, die von der Bienitzkuppe zur Zschampertaue führt, werden die Böden und Substratverhältnisse der Westseite des Bienitz gezeigt. Diese Catena (kettenartige Aneinanderreihung von Bodenprofilen) erschließt die gesetzmäßige Folge typischer Bodenformen dieser Endmoräne. Alle beobachteten Bodenformen zeichnen sich durch eine hohe Naturnähe aus. Damit besitzen sie innerhalb des stark überformten Ballungsraumes Halle – Leipzig eine wichtige Ausgleichsfunktion und stellen ein Rückzugsgebiet für Flora und Fauna dar. Darüber hinaus konnte mit Profil 6 eine für den Freistaat Sachen sehr seltene Bodenform angetroffen werden. Die Böden des von der Catena erfassten Landschaftsausschnittes verkörpern somit beispielhaft die beiden wichtigsten Grundfunktionen zum Schutz des Bodens ( Naturnähe, Archivfunktion).
Der Bienitzkomplex und Teile der Zschampertaue gehören seit 1998 zum LSG „ Leipziger Auewald“, da er auch als einzigartiger Standort für die Flora gilt, welche durch die voreiszeitliche und eiszeitliche geologische Bodenentwicklung entstanden ist. Im Jahre 1850 fand man dort 784 Pflanzenarten vor. Deshalb wird der Bienitz auch als „Kreuzberg der Blume“ bezeichnet.

Erstellt bitte von euch und Eurem Empfangsgerät eine Momentaufnahme an einer der sechs Bodengruben. (alle sechs sind natürlich sehr gern gesehen)
In unmittelbarer Umgebung des Aufschlusses Nummer 6 (siehe Lageplan) findet Ihr auch die Antworten auf die nachfolgenden Fragen.
In welcher Tiefe kann man sandigen Lehm finden?
Was bedeckte,bedingt durch Überschwemmung, nach und nach den Boden des gesamten Auengebietes?
Nennt bitte einen pflanzlichen Vertreter der dieser Kuppe zum Namen verhalf !

Bienitz

Bienitz – The northern end of the Rückmarsdorf – Dehlitzer terminal moraine.
A terminal moraine is an embankment elevation of rock material at the end of a glacier and marks the line of a maximum glacier thrust or a glacier shutdown. Terminal moraines originate if at the end of a glacier melting and ice supplies keep the scales. Then the ice edge remains stable for longer time. However, the ice itself still moves. Because the ice edge not runs dead-straight separate in single praise (glacier tongues) disintegrates, terminal moraines one also have such praise-like course. There are mostly especially hard distinctive terminal moraines.
So also of the Bienitz. His origin date is dated for from 230,000 to 130,000 years before today. The wolstonian stage formed him and it is the middleone of three big glacial periods in Northern Europe. Therefore particularly the wolstonian stage layer limbs are involved in the geologic construction of the Bienitz. The ice thrusts of the younger change ice age did not reach the Leipzig area any more.
Nevertheless, in the approach of the ice it came to the redeposition of sand and today outbalancing ones share of the area cover. In the following brown earth developed in the hilltop area on poorer sandy soil. at the hillside the increasing thickness of< cohesive substrates the waters – and supply of nutrients goes better. The water-stopping ground moraine in low depth founded therefore the escape of numerous springs. The last water-leading spring in the Bienitz is the Hun spring. You can reach them on the round path (red bar on white subsurface).
The Bienitz considers in the west edge of a ground scenery is called “Saxon Löss Fields “ In 1998 at the Bienitz were digging out six ground profile pits. In a thought chain of 550 m of air line which leads from the top of the Bienitz to the Zschampertaue the ground and substrate relations of the west side of the Bienitz are shown. A legitimate result of typical ground shapes of a terminal moraine opens these Catena (chain-like sequence of ground profiles). All observed ground shapes distinguish themselves by a high physical nearness. They own within the conurbation Halle-Leipzig an important balance function and show a retreat area for flora and fauna. In addition, a very rare ground shape could be found with profile 6 in Saxony. The grounds of the scenery cutting grasped by the Catena embody therefore exemplarily both most important basic functions for the protection of the ground (physical nearness, archive function).
The Bienitzcomplex and parts of the Zschampertaue belong since 1998 to LSG „Leipziger Auewald“, because it is also famous as a unique location for the flora which has originated from the preglacial and glacial geologic ground development. In 1850 there were found 784 botanical species. Therefore the Bienitz is called „ Kreuzberg der Blume “..
