Highlights of a Small Wood (Wellington) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Growly Bear: As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Hemmed in by suburban housing, this small plot of bush appears much larger from the inside – the perfect childhood adventureland!

Park near the waypoint at S41 06.955 E174 51.968 and enter the small bush track nearby. Although the cache is not far away, the hilly contours demand a semi-circular, 10 minute walk.

The cache is near the end of a small, dead-end branch in the track. GPS reception can be tricky here, so use judgement and don’t stray too far. Once you get to the right spot, the cache should not be difficult to find.

The cache is a 1 litre plastic container in camo bag which initially contained the following items:

Logbook with pen/pencil
Marble
Small yo-yo
Huey-Dewey-Louie plastic figurine
Hello Kitty Charm
Shoe Clip
Pet Rock – Mermaid (by Rattll)

The terrain is steep in places and unsuitable for wheelchairs or buggies. Dogs can be walked on a lead. Best visited in daylight. Please respect the surrounding bush which preserves some of the species predominant in the area prior to settlement.
